Ultraman Leo:Tragic warrior of L77

To date, Ultraman Leo has remained one of my most memoriable Ultra series.
The show was dark (much to my taste) with a very dramatic premise.
The sad defeat of Ultraseven at the start of the series, the appearance of our nolstagic Dan Moroboshi, who has now became the captain of MAC, is now crippled after the fight with the twin Gilas monsters.
And what's more, he also lost his henshin ability to became Ultraseven. Oh what a tragic fate for Dan Moroboshi!
As this is no sad enough, it is revealed that our hero of the show Gen Ohtori. is a refugee to earth from the planet L77, which is mercilessly destroyed by Magma Seijin.
Now begins the intertwining of fate between our 2 alien tragic warriors. And the plot develops from here.

Above figure pose is replicated from a scene in episode 4 of Leo,
Titled: A vow between men (男と男の誓い)

One of my most favourite medicom human action figure, Dan Moroboshi of MAC captain.
But alas a big disappointment from medicom. I was balancing the figure in his clutches on one arm for quite some time. And one day, I decided to move the figure in another pose. Then I notice the arm holding the clutches has dislocated from the shoulder! I am not sure if it is weight of the figure resting on the clutches that cause the problem.  And the silver material on his mac armor became to disintegrate as i was holding it! I have no choice but to buy some silver sticker tag to cover up the disintegrated parts. Thought of buying another similar figure since this is my favourite character. But the thought of silver material disintegration prevented me from doing so.
 Once bitten, twice shy.

My favourites episodes of Ultraman Leo is the first 2 episodes.
Above shows Ultraman Leo using his Ultra kick to break the tornado stunt performed by the red and black Gilas brothers.
All of them are from Yamanaya.

My favourite villian is of course the notorious Magma Seijin.
I like it so much that I collected 3 version of the character. The left one is from bullmark with the black cape, where he is shown flying down from the sky into the sea.
The middle one is also from bullmark, showing his 2 weapons. And the right is from yamanaya, with only a weapon in one arm.

My 2nd favourite twin episodes 38 and 39, featuring the cunning Barabou Seijin.
Above right shows the fake Astra holding the Ultra key. Figure is from Yamanaya
To the left is Barabou Seijin from Bullmark

No Ultra series is complete without the flying machines and vehicles to keep the monsters busy
Above are a set of Bullmark and Edai Grip MAC chogokin goodies.

The greatest invasion in world history 史上最大の侵略(後編)

An imaginary scene in Ultraseven farewell episode 49
"The greatest invasion in world history part 2".
Here we see an injured Dan Moroboshi holding up his ultra eye trying to henshin into Ultraseven. Standing next to him is not Ultraseven, but the superior of Ultraseven trying to stop Dan from transforming. This scene is included inside the toy box art of Dan Moroboshi 12" action figure produced by Five Star toys. Since I had a medicom 12" Ultraseven figure, I decided to re-create this scene in toy form. I was almost led to believe this is an actual footage taken from the episode, only to realised later that this is actually a promotional photo for the episode.
I look through the entire episode to confirm that this scene does not exist.
Argh! How I wish it is real.

Huge Counterattack! The Prince of Shadows (大逆襲!影の王子)

Another classic battle between Kamen Rider Black RX and Shadow Moon enfolds in this title episode of Kamen Rider Black RX.
Here RX is preparing to pull out his revolcane sword from his sunrise belt. And no, this is not medicom RAH Shadow Moon. It is Shadow Moon Resin Model Kit produced by Hong Kong G Systems. Notice the crease on the thighs. This is something a Medicom RAH Shadow Moon action figure is unable to replicate. As advanced as the 1/6 action figure industry is as of now, certain pose still remains a challenge. Take for example the RX pulling out the revolcane sword from his belt pose, the sword handle fails to stay at 90 degrees to the belt, due to the restriction of the hand joints.

Death of the Rider ライダー死す!

Recreating the iconic scene of episode 47 of Kamen Rider Black. Titled "Death of the Rider".
How my heart sank when I watched this episode, when Shadow Moon mercilessly dive his Satan Saber sword into the body of Black Sun.

Anyone guess which Medicom RAH Shadow Moon this is from? version 2009, version 1.5 or version 2.0? Can't tell the difference? Well, they look the same to me. It pained my heart when I broke one of the arm of Shadow Moon Ver. 2009, after i posed it riding the battlehopper. Sob.

Now what you are seeing is the Ver. 2.0. I am taking great care in posing this figure, slowly manoeuvring the torso lest I broke them again. Mind you. Once the arms breaks from the elbow, it is almost impossible to join them back and make them pose-able again. One thing I have learnt is to study the skeleton body of version 2009, see how the joints works and it's limitation. This figure doesn't come cheap, so have to handle with great care. Shadow Moon looks popular enough for Medicom to came out with 4 versions. The 1st version default in around year 1999.  But to me, they aren't any difference in looks spotted between the last 3 versions, except for an additional pair of twin swords for version 1.5 and 2.0 used by Shadow Moon in Black RX. If Medicom is using the same body type for all the last 3 versions, then articulation wise could be the same.

One of the red jewels on the satan saber sword came off while I was fixing the right hand to the sword. Fortunately I found it on the floor. Was disappointed that the jewel could came off so easily.
Oh yes, Now I remember I have the 1999 1st version from many years ago which I have sold, and the jewels came off so easily too. Hmm.. seems like Medicom never learnt.
